MikeG Picks Up First Ever Nascom Modified Win

MikeG picks up the win at Bristol Motor Speedway this past week over teammate Tex Perry. It was the first modified race for the newly formed league and after practice things were not looking all to good for Mike. During qualifying Mike spun and hit the wall but the crew was able to fix the car for the race. An old member of Mudhole Motorsports came back after taking some time off and it seemed like it was going to be his night to shine after starting on the front row Jeff aka Deuces Wild ran into some bad luck on a restart as he would lose 4th gear and would end up retiring from the race just a few laps later. Tex also had some bad luck when he had an ignition box problem which caused him to go a few laps down. He was able to get them back by getting the lucky dog when the cautions flew. Mike would find himself running 2nd and the leader slid up and he made his move to get out front. That didn't last to long as Mike would end up spinning just a few moments later. While leaving the pits somthing happened to the steering and  it looked like his night was going to be over but he found the problem and fixed it and kept on going. with about 50 laps to go there were only 2 cars left on the lead lap as 2 cars recieved black flags and had to make a stop and go leaving Mike and Tex to lead the way. As the checkers flew it saw Mike out in front to take the win with Tex right behind. This ended an almost 3 month winless streak for Mike.

Scott Wins KARS Event

The teams Newest driver picked up his first win of the season at Minnesota State Fair. The teams other driver did not fair so well but was able to finish 6th even with how bad his night was. Early in the race Mike was caught in the first yellow of the night. The incident happened in turn 4 and when Mike stopped he saw the leader coming around the corner so thinking very quickly he backed across the line to take the yellow. When he stopped and started to go again he lost 1st gear. He was able to continue. Scott was running 2nd at the time and asked on the radio what he was doing going the wrong way. Things got worse for Mike as the night went on the car got worse and worse. Scott on the other had spent most of the race at the front. After leading the most laps a late yellow was going to decied the race and a pit stop may have made the difference. Taking 2 tires Scott put himself in a bad spot most would think but he made it work. The race finished under yellow and Scott was out front. He said he knew that the 2 tires might not work but had to take that chance and in the end it worked out for him. Scott would extend his points lead over Mike to a 22 point margin. Finishing 6th didn't help Mike get some breathing room over second place but he was able to pick up a few now with a 16 point gap Mike is hoping for some luck next week, because he will be unable to attend the second to last race of the season and that could take his chances of second place or if Scott has some bad luck the championship out the window if he has a bad week.
